- Once deposit is paid, volunteers will receive a copy of the OHS Volunteer Handbook which contains all of the materials needed to prepare you for your work in Tanzania: logistical information for your trip, the HIV/AIDS curriculum which you will be learning and teaching from, our OHS Swahili curriculum, and much more.
- Your program’s manager and coordinators will guide you through the pre-field preparation and training process in the months leading up to your departure for Tanzania.
- The remainder of the program fee is due approximately eight weeks before the program start date.
The Program Fee is tax-deductible for U.S. residents and includes:

Please do not let the financial aspect of volunteering be a determining factor in your ability to participate. OHS encourages and assists all of our volunteers to fundraise. Fundraising your program fee creates a “win-win-win” situation, in that there are three people benefiting from the positive energy: individuals who cannot directly go to Tanzania but would like to help otherwise, the volunteer who no longer carries the financial burden, and the kids of course!
If you have any questions concerning the volunteer programs or application process, please e-mail us at volunteer@oneheartsource.org.
